A studio built on restraint.
Fill Studio is a small software and experience studio. We design and build apps — the interfaces people touch, and the journeys that carry them from first launch to everyday habit. We work as a partner, not a vendor: close to the problem, invested in the outcome.
The name is a quiet idea. An enso — the Japanese ink circle — is drawn in a single breath and left intentionally open. We’re interested in the gap, and in what it takes to fill it well: the difference between software that works and software that feels right. The mark of the studio is that open circle, closed by a single deliberate square.
Our taste sits between two traditions. From Japanese design we take ma — the value of empty space and the discipline of leaving things out. From Dutch design we take structure — the belief that a clear grid is a form of honesty. Most of what we make lives somewhere in between.
Founder
Alec Babaei
Fill Studio was founded by Alec Babaei, who builds software that solves problems and brings smiles. Alongside the studio’s client work, he ships his own products — among them Writey, a tablet app for handwriting and calligraphy practice, and a steady stream of experiments. The studio is where that same care goes to work for other people’s products.

The hardest part of design is deciding what to leave out. We ship fewer things, made properly.
Structure is honesty
Borrowed from Dutch design: a clear grid and a clear hierarchy are a form of respect for the person using the thing.
Feel before features
A feature list never made anyone love an app. The way it feels in the hand does.
Proof, not pitches
We would rather be judged by what we’ve shipped than what we promise.
Discipline
Product, interface & experience design — and the build.
Model
One service: a hands-on product partnership.
